The Wis-Coat Story
Marvin Joles started Wis-Coat in 2004, shortly after graduating from River Valley High School in Southern Wisconsin. After starting the business in Black River Falls, he moved back toward southern Wisconsin and the River Valley Area to make the primary office location in Lone Rock, near the Wisconsin River.
During this time, he attended classes provided by the UW that are directly geared toward Maintaining Asphalt Pavements. Wis-Coat now services areas like Platteville, Madison, Tomah, Lacrosse and all of South-Western Wisconsin, in both the residential and commercial areas. Marvin is still the “point man” from estimate to finish and is on every job site, even doing labor yet.
As the company grows, Marvin continues to create transparency in the industry and to get educated on improved practices, better materials, improved techniques, improved technology and advanced equipment.
As well as, becoming an Industry Leader through Social Media, Article Writing and Speaking about Asphalt and Pavements. Marvin has also been important in creating a national Asphalt Industry Community to help other contractors improve their knowledge & practices. He contributes also by, writing articles for Nationally distributed magazines and is a National speaker/educator in the Asphalt Maintenance industry, making himself become a trusted Asphalt Industry brand in itself.
Overall, Wis-Coat is a family owned and led company, that is proud to give back to the communities they service and provide for the local employees of the company, who also take ownership in the quality and characteristics that have made it one of the premier Asphalt Maintenance and Paving companies in Southern Wisconsin. If Marvin has any free-time, it is usually spent attending his children’s, Elizabeth and Elijah, events, volunteering at his favorite non-profit in Guatemala, Mission Impact, or attending many of the Asphalt Industry Conferences across America.
